Generator AVR SX460

The automatic voltage regulator is linked with the main stator windings and the exciter field windings to provide closed loop control of the output voltage. In addition to being powered from the main stator the unit also derives a sample voltage from the output windings for voltage control purposes. As the unit checks the voltage samples it refers it to the set point which has been set by the operator. As soon as there is a difference between the set point and the sample voltage it sends a signal to the exciter field to increase or decrease power to keep the generator within the parameters that have been marked.
